Reporting into the Lead Data Scientist, this role sits within a large, strategic program focused on customer value generation and data-driven offerings. You’ll work on high-impact machine learning initiatives, developing and experimenting with models that directly shape customer outcomes and product capabilities. What you’ll be doing
- Design, develop, and experiment with machine learning models across the full lifecycle
- Lead exploratory data analysis, feature engineering, and hypothesis-driven experimentation
- Evaluate models using appropriate metrics, validation techniques, and risk considerations
- Own and evolve ML models and data products from proof-of-concept through to production
- Drive best practices in model development, experimentation frameworks, and reproducibility
- Communicate model performance, insights, and trade-offs through clear documentation, visualisations, and presentations
- Continuously apply advanced ML techniques and domain knowledge to complex problem spaces
What you bring – Technical
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop and apply domain expertise
- Solid theoretical understanding of machine learning and applied data science
- Advanced proficiency in Python and/or R for model development
- Strong experience in feature engineering, model selection, and model evaluation
- Proficiency in SQL and working with structured and unstructured data
- Experience productionising machine learning models and managing experimentation-to-production workflows
- Ability to define and apply best practices for scalable ML development
- Proven capability to translate machine learning experimentation into measurable customer and business value
